TOMORROW’S TRADE IDEA, TODAY

NXT Up

Underestimated Industry Leader

It’s been a big year for tech stocks. Now, according to Baird, Crane NXT (CXT) may be next up.

The firm believes investors are underestimating the technology solutions company’s potential for long-term earnings growth. Baird views Crane NXT as an industry leader in micro-optic security technology, which is used to protect against counterfeit products and currency.

Analyst Michael Halloran recently initiated coverage on the stock at an Outperform rating with a $77 price target, which represents around 38% upside.

Top-Shelf Margins

Halloran is bullish on the company’s ability to develop strong relationships with its customers, which leads to a high amount of recurring revenue.

On top of that, both its gross and EBITDA margins are top-shelf, and it is trading at a discount compared to its multi-year earnings potential, the analyst adds.

He believes its financial health will result in increased investor interest over time, driving long-term value for the stock.

Still a Year Away

Halloran does not expect the stock to start to see real growth until 2026, but he is optimistic about the company’s opportunities in the long run, which he believes are being overlooked by investors.

The kicker: Halloran seems almost bearish on Crane NXT by comparison to other observers. Only six analysts are covering the stock, but their average price target is nearly $90, implying more than 50% upside.

Meanwhile, the stock is down around 5% over the past 6 months, and it is trading at a low multiple. For investors who are as bullish as Wall Street seems to be, now may be the time to buy the dip.
